OHALAH is in a steady state financially AND we are asking for contributions this year around new growth. This year, our $26,500 fundraising appeal is to fully fund a revision of our ethical guidelines and implement a learning curve around ethics. A portion of the funds will also be directed to carbon offsets for conference travel and future scholarships to support members to attend.
We are in a new time in our organization. We are truly in a generational shift with everything that implies. Our organization is changing from a group of intimate friends into a professional association for the graduates of our programs and colleagues who have joined us from other training programs. What is the right gift for you to make now, based on what you have received; what you cherish; what support you want from colleagues and what hope for about Jewish Renewal. Where is your link on the chain?
We are in a new time in our lives. Many of our teachers are aging, some have passed on to be ancestors and intercessors. Some of us are emerging into our careers and some of us are winding down. What is the right gift for you to offer, considering your means and needs now?
Take a moment to hold in your heart the teachers who have left the planet in the recent past. We are their baneem/ot, their builders and their offspring. Because of this seminal moment in our group life, I am encouraging gifts which are combinations and multiples of 7 and 8. Seven is the number of completion, fullness and balance. And 8 is the number representing the higher, the next octave, new growth.
